Oficiales de Policías y Correccionales Organizan Otra Vez el "Día de la Solidaridad" para los Sin Techo Locales con Trastornos Mentales

WHO: The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), a multi-agency team comprised of local law enforcement and correctional officers, will again host a “Day of Giving” to serve individuals that receive support through Pathways Drop-In Center. Pathways is a unique program that exclusively serves and is managed by individuals living with mental illness who are homeless or are experiencing extreme poverty. Pathways is not a shelter, but a safe-haven for this population to seek refuge during the day, have a meal and access to social and mental health services.

WHAT: These law enforcement and correctional personnel are trained to work with individuals experiencing mental illness and come together annually at Pathways to bring a bit of holiday cheer to those in need. While the CIT program supports Pathways throughout the year, this celebration is reserved to experience holiday cheers and goodwill. Matern Professional Engineering has again generously donated hot meals for guests to enjoy. In addition to food, there will be free haircuts, clothing, duffle bags and other essential items.

WHEN:  Dec. 16, 2017
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: 1313 30th Street Orlando, FL 32805

WHY: So many families and organizations incorporate giving as part of their holiday traditions. “Day of Giving” showcases Orange County’s “neighbors helping neighbors” philosophy, remembering that all are deserving of kindness and compassion.
