Update: Both facilities will close noon, Sunday, September 1.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Orange County, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 In anticipation of Hurricane Dorian, the Orange County Utilities Solid Waste Division has opened an additional collection site for yard waste, including tree trimmings.<\/p>\n

Porter Transfer Station in west Orange County at 1326 Good Homes Road is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday. This site typically is only open for yard waste on weekends.<\/p>\n

On the east side of the county, the Orange County Landfill at 5901 Young Pine Road is open regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.<\/p>\n

Normal policies and fees will apply.\u00a0For more information: www.ocfl.net\/WasteSites<\/a><\/p>\n

Both facilities may have to close as the storm approaches.<\/p>\n

Regular yard waste curbside collection that follows set out guidelines is available for customers with scheduled Friday service. For set out guidelines visit: www.ocfl.net\/UtilitiesStormInfo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For customers whose designated day has passed, please secure any loose items or delay yard work until after the storm when service schedules resume. Residents who need items removed\u00a0should make arrangements to haul the material away or pay someone to do it. Regularly scheduled collection services, with household garbage as the priority, will begin as soon as possible after the storm.<\/p>\n

The curbside collection schedule for unincorporated Orange County may be suspended next week due to Dorian.<\/p>\n
