Join us for the reception in Commission Chambers, 5:30-6:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Orange County, FL<\/strong> \u2013 The opening reception for artist Giuseppe Corazzina kicks off the Art in the Chambers 2016-17 series, and has the distinction of being the 39th exhibition presented in the Orange County program.<\/p>\n Born in Padua, Italy, Corazzina has made Orange County his home since 1996, and continues to be a working exhibitor and instructor in the visual arts. He has taught studio arts courses and workshops at Cornell Fine Arts Museum, Rollins College and the University of Central Florida.<\/p>\n \u201cIn my work, I wish to convey the daily emotions which are an integral part of my journey through life, of which I am the protagonist and active participant,\u201d says Corazzina in his artist statement. \u201cMy paintings are purely emotional and are strongly influenced by visionary and fanciful atmosphere or moods.\u201d<\/p>\n Curated by Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs, four-month-long exhibitions of visual artworks in all media are rotated three times a year in the Commission Chambers on the first floor of the Orange County Government Administration Center. This exhibition of paintings by Giuseppe Corazzina represents the 39th exhibition in the Art in the Chambers series, which was designed and implemented by Terry Olson, Director, Arts & Cultural Affairs.<\/p>\n \u201cAs you know, the Commission Chambers is a busy room. In many ways, it is the living room of our Orange County home,\u201d says Olson. \u201cDuring any particular quarter of the year, approximately 75 to 100 events take place here – board meetings, advisory councils and review boards, the State legislative delegation, departmental briefings and associated awards ceremonies.\u201d<\/p>\n Olson continues, \u201cThe Art in the Chambers program allows us to showcase some of the art from our local museums and collections and the art of some of the nationally known artists that live or work in Orange County. Not only do the thousands of people who come through these Chamber doors get to see these creative works, but also all those who pass through the remote portal of Orange TV and Vision TV, as well.\u201d<\/p>\n The Arts & Cultural Affairs Office was established by Mayor Richard T. Crotty and the Board of County Commissioners in 2001. The mission is to \u201celevate Central Florida\u2019s arts and culture to the status of that befitting a world-class community,\u201d an initiative that continues to receive resounding endorsement from Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.<\/p>\n \u201cThe long-standing \u2018Art in Chambers\u2019 program adds a wonderful dimension of human expression to our County Commission chambers,\u201d said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs. \u201cWe are deeply proud to regularly present visual art by acclaimed artists from our community, as well as works that are part of significant local collections. In addition to their obvious artistic and aesthetic quality, the many genres of art represented through the \u2018Art in Chambers\u2019 programs help to demonstrate our commitment to diversity of expression \u2013 a wonderful complement to the public deliberations and conversations that take place each week in our chambers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
