Demings, Orange County has been proactive in greenlighting initiatives that streamline delivery of government services. That includes encouraging open data, collaboration, and shared services; enhanced cybersecurity; and innovative ways to deliver disaster response and recovery efforts. This dedication to technology practices has served the County well, and now it has been recognized on a national level.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govtech.com\/cdg\">Center for Digital Government (CDG)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naco.org\/\">National Association of Counties (NACo)<\/a> recently announced the winners of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govtech.com\/dc\/digital-counties\">Digital Counties Survey 2021<\/a>. The survey, conducted by CDG in partnership with NACo, identifies the best technology practices among U.S. counties, and Orange County has been ranked 4<sup>th<\/sup> in the entire nation in the 1,000,000 or More Population Category.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an important recognition,\u201d said Mayor Demings. \u201cWe live in a digital age that requires we incorporate tech solutions to streamline services and enhance cybersecurity. I feel like we\u2019re continuing to create a digital-friendly environment that benefits all Orange County residents and employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here is the Top 10 list for counties in that category:<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>1,000,000 or More Population Category<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n1st King County, WA<br \/>\n2nd County of Los Angeles, CA<br \/>\n3rd Hennepin County, MN<br \/>\n<strong>4th Orange County, FL<\/strong><br \/>\n5th Fairfax County, VA<br \/>\n6th Montgomery County, MD<br \/>\n7th Oakland County, MI<br \/>\n8th County of Alameda, CA<br \/>\n9th Cook County, IL<br \/>\n9th Miami-Dade County, FL<br \/>\n10th County of San Bernardino, CA<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe coronavirus pandemic underscored the urgent need for bold, cutting-edge approaches to serving our residents, and technology has played a major role,\u201d said NACo Executive Director Matthew Chase. \u201cThis year\u2019s Digital Counties Survey winners have demonstrated true leadership when it was needed the most.
