Orange County Procurement Division Honored since 1995"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Orange County Government Procurement Division was recently recognized by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npi-aep.org\/\">National Procurement Institute\u00a0<\/a>with the 2022 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement\u00ae Award. The County was one of 171 agencies in the United States and Canada and one of only 36 U.S. counties to receive the award. Even more impressively, Orange County is one of only five agencies to receive the award every year since the award\u2019s inception in 1995.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re honored to continue this amazing streak of obtaining this prestigious award in each of the 27 years it has been offered,\u201d said Carrie Mathes, Procurement Division Manager\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re proud to be among the best of the best and to be recognized by the National Procurement Institute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The National Procurement Institute promotes the achievement of excellence in governmental and institutional procurement through education, certification, professional development and networking of its membership. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement\u00ae Award recognizes excellence in procurement by organizations that obtain high scores on standardized criteria that measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership attributes in the procurement profession.<\/p>\n<p>Last fiscal year, Orange County\u2019s Procurement Division awarded approximately $684 million in contracts, with $28.2 million expended to Orange County certified minority and women-owned business enterprise contractors and sub-contractors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTeamwork and collaboration are built through relationships and extraordinary service delivery, and the Procurement staff has proven this year in and year out,\u201d asserted Orange County Mayor Jerry L.
