Orange County will be hosting a Fleet and Facilities Job Fair<\/a> on Thursday, January 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This job fair provides a unique opportunity to apply, interview and receive a same day offer for a variety of positions, and qualified individuals can even get a $1,000 sign-on bonus.<\/p>\n

Open positions include Equipment Mechanics, HVAC Mechanics, Operations Technicians (carpentry, plumber, electrical), and Maintenance Technicians (general and grounds). Benefits of joining the Orange County team include sign-on bonuses, paid training and certifications, tuition reimbursement, retirement options and retention bonuses.<\/p>\n

Fleet Management Division maintains a fleet of over 2,000 pieces of automotive and heavy trucks, 2,000 off-road and heavy-equipment assets and numerous small-engi\"\"ne items. It also provides 24-hour fuel service throughout the County for more than 4,200 vehicles and equipment and maintains the County emergency rescue ambulances and emergency generators on a 24-hour basis. The division was recently ranked the\u00a0#7 best Government Fleet<\/a>\u00a0in the United States by Government Fleet.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI love that we interact and touch every department in the County,\u201d said Bryan Lucas, manager, Fleet Management Division. \u201cWe\u2019re one of the best places you can work because you\u2019ll never get bored. There\u2019s always something different and challenging to work on. If you want the opportunity for growth and internal training, this is the place to come and do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luis Rolon, who recently joined Fleet Management as an equipment mechanic, shares the same sentiments as Lucas. \u201cEvery day I\u2019m doing something different, and I\u2019m constantly learning and honing my skills,\u201d he said. \u201cThe technicians and mechanics I work with are all willing to teach and educate others. They all come to work with the same sense of purpose, which is to keep the County operating and help residents maintain a high quality of life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Facilities Management Division provides a safe and healthy environment for employees and the public in a cost effective and efficient manner by managing and performing routine, corrective, preventive and emergency maintenance to County facilities and equipment. The team maintains more than 5.8 million square feet of space and over 500 structures across Orange County.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s reliable here\u2026 I have 40 hours a week guaranteed and the opportunity to constantly learn and grow,\u201d said Reynaldo Polanco, senior technician, Facilities Management Division. \u201cThe County provides a great work environment, and it\u2019s a dynamic job. I\u2019m out fixing things all day with a great group of people. It\u2019s incredibly rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n
