Ushering in 2025 with artistic flair, Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs<\/a> has premiered its 10th annual Sculpture on the Lawn exhibition, which will exhibit through January 14, 2026 on the Orange County Administrative Building lawn in downtown Orlando.<\/p>\n

Established in 2015, the Sculpture on the Lawn program was designed by the Public Art Review Board<\/a> to promote the inclusion of public art throughout Orange County. Voting is conducted by Board members, and a finalist list is reviewed during a Board meeting where consensus on the top selections is reached.<\/p>\n

The goal of this international art competition is to benefit and educate residents while enhancing the visual landscape with a diverse range of styles, themes and artists, and the community gains access to world-class art in public spaces and can view it any time of day, any day of the year. Since its inception, residents have seen sculptures from Central Florida and U.S.-based artists, as well as Ukraine, Italy, Greece, Turkey, France, Colombia, Denmark, Spain and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis exhibit allows for a broader reach and brings the best of the entire world to Orange County,\u201d said Vicki Landon, administrator, Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs. \u201cBy having this program showcase international artists and other programs be specific to local artists, we get the best of both worlds \u2013 supporting local artists while also bringing world-class pieces here for the benefit of our residents.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exhibit is seen by approximately 10,000 individuals daily. The artists receive an honorarium in exchange for loaning their sculptures for the exhibition, and sculptures are available for purchase.<\/p>\n

For Landon, her favorite part of the process is installation day. \u201cMore often than not, the artists travel to assist with the installation of their pieces,\u201d she said, \u201cso we have a large \u2018art party\u2019 with the sculptors meeting one another, meeting staff and helping direct the installation of their work.\u201d<\/p>\n
