<\/p>\nGetting around Orange County just got easier for Pine Hills residents.<\/p>\n
The community\u2019s new LYNX bus transfer station is now open, providing faster, more efficient access to jobs and services across the region. But the new hub represents more than transportation \u2014 it stands as a symbol of progress for the community.<\/p>\n
Tamara Johnson, Executive Director of Orange County\u2019s Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement District, said the new bus center will boost local businesses and lay the groundwork for future economic development.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is going to help grow our community into what we want to see,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cOne of the main goals of the Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement District is economic development and economic growth, and this is the center of it. The best way to get money flowing into a community is to bring people in. And this transfer station will bring thousands of people weekly into Pine Hills \u2014 many who have never come through here before. This is a gamechanger for this community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Johnson joined Mayor Jerry L. Demings, U.S. Congressman Maxwell Frost, Orange County Clerk of Court Tiffany Moore Russell, District 2 Commissioner Christine Moore, District 6 Commissioner Michael Scott, and LYNX Chief Executive Officer Tiffany Homler Hawkins for the ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by LYNX on August 28.<\/p>\n

The $18 million project was completed with support from multiple partners, including a $1.03 million funding contribution from Orange County. In recent years, the County has invested more than $67 million in Pine Hills through transportation improvements, beautification projects, housing initiatives, and economic development efforts.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Pine Hills Transfer Center represents what happens when we invest in infrastructure that serves people first,\u201d Mayor Demings said at the ceremony. \u201cSafe intersections, bike trail connections, and modern facilities will help us meet the needs of today\u2019s riders and tomorrow\u2019s growth. Investing in successful and affordable transportation for our residents is one of our top priorities.\u201d<\/p>\n
The new transfer station allows residents to reach destinations faster, with fewer stops and no need to travel downtown first. It marks the culmination of more than a decade of collaboration among Orange County, LYNX, and the Florida Department of Transportation to improve access and mobility for Pine Hills residents.<\/p>\n
The Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement District envisions a future where the community is recognized as a vibrant destination. The new transfer center is a key step towards that vision.<\/p>\n
