Orange County employees once again demonstrated their generosity and community spirit, raising an unprecedented $1.45 million during the 2025 Heart of Florida United Way<\/a> Campaign \u2014 the highest total in the campaign\u2019s 30-year history.<\/p>\n

The achievement marks a record-breaking 40 percent increase over the previous year and reflects the commitment of thousands of County employees and constitutional partners \u2014 including the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Clerk of Courts, Comptroller, Supervisor of Elections and Orange County Convention Center \u2014 who joined forces under the theme \u201cSurvivor: Outraise, Outreach, Outshine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOrange County employees have once again proven that our strength lies in unity,\u201d said Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. \u201cThis record total represents more than dollars \u2014 it represents compassion, teamwork and a shared belief in helping our neighbors when they need it most. Together, we\u2019re building a stronger, more caring Orange County.\u201d<\/p>\n

The campaign was led by Terry Devitt, Deputy Director of the Orange County Convention Center<\/a>, who served as 2025 Campaign Chair. Devitt praised the energy and dedication of the campaign committees across departments.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m incredibly proud of the departments that exceeded their goals and helped make this record possible,\u201d he said. \u201cOur teams truly embodied the spirit of this year\u2019s theme \u2014 showing resilience, teamwork and determination from start to finish. Because of their hard work, we didn\u2019t just meet our goals \u2014 we outplayed, outworked and outlasted expectations to make a meaningful impact in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2025 campaign saw growth across every giving category, including a 10 percent increase in overall donors, a 10 percent rise in Medallion and Leadership donors, and a 10 percent increase in those giving at the Leadership level. Nearly 80 percent of County departments increased their employee giving totals, with standout performances by Community and Family Services, Utilities, and the Sheriff\u2019s Office, each surpassing the $100,000 milestone.<\/p>\n

Special events also played a key role in the campaign\u2019s success, generating more than $309,000 through creative fundraisers such as the annual Golf Tournament, Fire Rescue\u2019s 343 Hero Challenge<\/a> and employee parking events.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery year, our employees raise the bar for generosity,\u201d added Mayor Demings. \u201cTheir giving spirit reaches far beyond the workplace \u2014 it touches lives, strengthens families and builds hope across Orange County.\u201d<\/p>\n
