Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs recently hosted the Orlando Consular Corps Luncheon, which provides an opportunity for Central Florida consuls representing all parts of the world to discuss tourism, trade, culture and the economy in Orange County.<\/p>\n
\u201cMeeting with leaders from around the world gives us the chance to create more opportunities to collaborate on economic, educational and cultural exchanges,\u201d Mayor Jacobs said. \u201cIt allows us to strengthen our relationships with our international partners and showcase all that Orange County has to offer our international guests.\u201d<\/p>\n
Consuls representing Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Namibia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Switzerland and the Consulate of the Czech Republic joined partners from the Orange County\u2019s Office of Economic Development, the Central Florida International Trade Office, Orlando Economic Development Commission, the City of Orlando and the Orlando International Airport.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, consuls from each country shared moving stories of how their countries were affected by the Pulse Orlando night club tragedy and the various ways they connected with the extended Orange County community.<\/p>\n
The Orlando Consular Corps plays an integral role in the community and is the central point of contact for all trade, cultural and diplomatic relations between these countries and Central Florida.<\/p>\n
