Key Information for Residents to Prepare for Hurricane Dorian: Aug. 31, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

Orange County, Fla<\/strong>. \u2013 Latest update from Orange County Government Emergency Operations Center:<\/p>\n

Shelters<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Due to recent hurricane weather tracking, Orange County Government is adjusting the number of shelters it will open, specifically on the west side of the County. It will open nine general population shelters, which includes three pet-friendly shelters. Visit ocfl.net\/Shelters<\/a> for a complete list of open shelters and what to bring. Cots will not be provided, so please bring your own bedding and\/or cot. Designated shelters will be open beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1. Please DO NOT arrive before Sunday, Sept. 1 at any of the shelters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Orange County strongly encourages residents who require a Special Needs\/Medical Shelter, to please call 311. Residents who are deaf or hard of hearing can chat online, download the OCFL 311 app<\/a>, or register at www.ocfl.net\/psn<\/a>, to ensure access to resources and transportation.<\/p>\n

    PSN Shelters at Freedom High School and University High School are currently open. These shelters are also pet-friendly.<\/p>\n

    Sandbags<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Due to supplies being out, NO MORE sandbags are available. More than 150,000 sandbags have already been distributed. Visit ocfl.net\/sandbags<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n

    Gargbage & Recycling Collection<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Please be patient with fuel availability as Governor DeSantis has asked for additional supplies.<\/p>\n

    All Orange County Parks and Recreation<\/a> facilities will close at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1. Parks and Recreation facilities and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 and Tuesday, Sept. 3.<\/p>\n
