Orange County, Fla<\/strong>. \u2013 Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings is pleased to announce the selection of Andrea Wesser-Brawner as Orange County\u2019s first Chief Innovation & Emerging Technology Officer.<\/p>\n

Wesser-Brawner joins the Mayor\u2019s team from the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA), where she was the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Partnerships. Prior to joining InBIA, she served as Associate Director of Business Development at BRIDG, as well as held several positions at the University of Central Florida\u2018s Office of Research & Commercialization, where she assisted local businesses, researchers and students in bringing futuristic technologies to the marketplace.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith my appointment of Ms. Wesser-Brawner, Orange County will continue to focus and grow as a global leader with, innovative ideas that will take us through the 21st<\/sup> century and beyond,\u201d said Mayor Demings.<\/p>\n

Wesser-Brawner graduated with Honors from the University of Central Florida with her Master\u2019s and Bachelor\u2019s degrees in Mechanical Engineering<\/p>\n

In her new role, Wesser-Brawner will build upon the Mayor’s vision of Orange County becoming the \u201cExperimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow\u201d and creating a culture of innovation, collaboration and inclusiveness.<\/p>\n

Wesser-Brawner will focus on creating public and private partnerships throughout the entire organization to leverage technology to keep up with global trends and position Orange County as a leader in the innovation industry.<\/p>\n

Through the development of strategic plans and collaborating with a variety of critical stakeholders, Wesser-Brawner believes Orange County is set to be a regional, national, and international powerhouse of cutting-edge technology through championing large-scale projects bringing positive impacts to Orange County residents and visitors for years to come.<\/p>\n
