Orange County Animal Services Announces “Autumn in Spring” Adoption Event to Highlight Longtime Shelter Dog
Orange County, FL – Orange County Animal Services is set to roll out the red carpet for one special dog with a heart full of love. On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the shelter will host “Autumn in Spring”, a dedicated adoption event for Autumn A556496, a three-year-old, 55-pound dog who has been searching far too long for her forever home.
Autumn first arrived at the shelter in September as a stray. Since then, she's been adopted and returned five times-with nearly each return tied to one recurring challenge: separation anxiety. Despite this, Autumn continues to win over everyone she meets with her affectionate personality, sweet nature, and gentle soul. Volunteers adore her, and she gets along well with most other dogs.
To give Autumn her best chance yet at finding the right home, Orange County Animal Services is making every effort to get her seen. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday, Autumn will be the star of her own dedicated play yard, where potential adopters can spend one-on-one time getting to know her.
As part of this special event, Autumn's adoption fee has been reduced to just $20. She's already spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and ready to head home immediately. To sweeten the deal, the shelter will also provide her new family with a one-month supply of dog food.
"We know Autumn's perfect match is out there-someone who understands her needs, can keep her close, and will provide a safe, comforting space when they're away," said Diane Summers, manager for Orange County Animal Services. "She's a wonderful companion who just needs the right environment to thrive."
