Orange County Fire Rescue’s “Shop With A Firefighter” Brings Holiday Magic To Deserving Children
Firefighters Create a Special Holiday Experience for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida Kids
Orange County, Fla. – Orange County Fire Rescue is again partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida and Toys “R” Us to make the holidays extra special for some deserving children through Shop with a Firefighter, which will be held Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at 5 p.m. at Toys “R” Us at Millenia.
The goal of the event is to ensure children who may otherwise go without are paired with a caring local hero - and a Toys "R" Us gift card - to select holiday gifts. Firefighters dress in their Class A uniform and escort the children around the store, spending quality time together one on one. Firefighters in bunker gear wrap the gifts outside, and a fire engine is displayed for the children to enjoy.
Donations for Shop with a Firefighter will increase the number of children benefitted by the program. Three thousand dollars has already been raised. Additional donations can be made at https://www.gofundme.com/SWAFF-2017 to help even more families.
